Leek and Lamb Steamed Dumplings Recipe

These Leek and Lamb Steamed Dumplings are a tasty and nutritious way to enjoy Chinese dumplings at home. The leeks add a sweet and delicate flavor to the juicy lamb filling, which is seasoned with fragrant ginger and soy sauce. The dumplings become light and tender after steaming, making them ideal for dipping in soy sauce and chilli oil.

  • Total Time: 42 minutes

Instructions

  • Combine the ground lamb, leeks, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  • Mix until everything is well combined.
  • Place a tablespoon of the lamb mixture in the centre of each dumpling wrapper.
  • Wet the wrapper's edges and fold it in half to form a half-moon shape, pinching the edges together to seal.
  • Rep with the rest of the wrappers and filling.
  • To prevent sticking, line a steamer basket with parchment paper or cabbage leaves.
  • Place the dumplings in the steamer basket in a single layer, leaving some space between each dumpling to prevent sticking.
  • In a pot large enough to hold the steamer basket, bring the water to a boil.
  • Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and steam the dumplings for 10-12 minutes, or until they are cooked through.
  • If desired, top with soy sauce and chilli oil.
