Chinese Dim Sum Dumplings Recipe

These classic Chinese dim sum dumplings can be served as an appetiser or as a main course. The filling is a combination of ground pork, scallions, and savoury seasonings. The dumplings are then cooked to perfection, either pan-fried or steamed, and served with soy sauce or another dipping sauce of your choice.


Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 30 minutes
  • Cook Time: 8 minutes
  • Total Time: 38 minutes


  • Combine the ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, white pepper, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • Mix until everything is well combined.
  • Mix in the scallions that have been chopped.
  • Fill a dumpling wrapper with about 1 tablespoon of the filling.
  • Moisten the edge of the wrapper with your finger.
  • Fold the wrapper in half and press the edges to seal.
  • Beginning at one end, pleat the wrapper's edges until the dumpling is completely sealed.
  • Rep with the rest of the wrappers and filling.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil before beginning to cook the dumplings.
  • Boil the dumplings for 6-8 minutes, or until they float to the top and are cooked through.
  • You can also pan-fry or steam the dumplings.
