Asian Dumplings with Vinegar Dipping Sauce Recipe

These Asian Dumplings with Vinegar Dipping Sauce make an excellent appetiser or snack. The dumplings are boiled until cooked through with a filling of ground pork, Napa cabbage, scallions, and ginger. The dipping sauce adds a tangy and flavorful element to the dish and is made with rice vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, scallions, and ginger.

Instructions

  • Combine the ground pork, Napa cabbage, scallions, ginger, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sesame oil, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  • In the palm of your hand, place a dumpling wrapper and spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling into the centre.
  • Pinch the top edges of the wrapper together with your fingers to create a pleated effect.
  • Rep with the rest of the dumpling wrappers and filling.
  • A large pot of water should be brought to a boil.
  • Cook the dumplings in batches for 3 to 4 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.
  • Meanwhile, make the dipping sauce by combining the rice vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, scallions, and ginger in a small bowl.
  • Serve the dumplings hot, alongside the dipping sauce.
